The school year is coming to an end and with that school meals as well. Many food-insecure families heavily rely on these meals to keep their kids fed. The good news is that summer meals are here to support kids in households where school meals were a necessity.
If you are a family or know someone that needs a meal for their kid (0-18yr), there are many sites throughout the state that are serving healthy and kid-approved meals! Meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack and vary with each location. No applications or paperwork are needed. Children simply need to be present to receive their free, healthy meal.
The Arizona Department of Education has a statewide map of open summer meal sites that is due to go live the week of June 3rd. Meal sites, however, are open NOW. To find the nearest summer meal site until June 3rd, we are urging parents to contact their kids school district office to get a list of open sites.
You can access and bookmark the summer meal sites map here.
