communities About Us

It all started

F.O.R. (Food, Opportunity, and Resources) Maricopa has been in existence since 2007, making an immediate impact in a city founded in 2003 that saw its population and needs explode in just a few short years. What began as an effort to feed and aid just a few families – first out of the trunks of cars via home delivery and then by pickup at a local grocery store parking lot – has evolved into a full-fledged resource center and food bank.

More than just food

🠶🦃 Holiday Food Boxes
Distributed during Thanksgiving and Christmas, these boxes include a fresh turkey or ham and all the fixings for a special holiday meal.

🠶🎁Christmas Wish Project
Each holiday season, community members select a child’s wish from giving trees around Maricopa. We collect the gifts and discreetly provide them to parents for holiday distribution. Sign- ups are in November, and toy distribution is in late December.

🠶Resources & Referrals: Tangible support and connections to additional services for those in need. Focusing on senior citizens, veterans, and families.

Growth Rooted in Service

On an average week, F.O.R. Maricopa, now operating out of the blue building, serves approximately 500 families—a number that continues to rise due to current economic challenges.

But at F.O.R., growth isn’t just measured by the number of families we serve. True growth is seen in how we expand our impact beyond food assistance. We help individuals connect with employment opportunities, support seniors in maintaining independence and safety, and provide families with the resources they need to navigate difficult times.
